The Lancaster is the aircraft recovered from Wallis Island and is still very much in existance. I do not believe that it is being rebuilt to fly though. I saw the fuselage and centre section last year out in the sun at the Paris Air Show. It is looking extremely smart in Aeronavale markings and midnight blue scheme.

The Marauders engines were also destroyed in the fire and the units fitted to the finished aircraft have come from another source.

I believe that the French Air Force does have at least two D520's in addition to the one on display at Le Bourget. However if anyone knows different then I would be delighted to hear from them.
