Unfortunately the interest for preserving wrecks seems to be very limited in Sweden. I don't know why, especially when what is probably the worlds largest aviation historical society is situated in Sweden with more than 5000 members.
The air force museum is gathering remains of aircraft which they miss in their collection or if they can trade with other musuems. So a Hawker Osprey have been recovered and is in storage for future restoration. Several crashsites of Northrop 8A-1 (B5) have been visited so there are substantial remains in storage including parts recovered from farms and schools etc. Also a tail unit of a Re 2000 have been recovered as have remains of a couple of CR 42s been recovered. The later parts have been exchanged with Italian Air Force Museum for an engine for the Macchi flying boat at the museum.
They're searching for a wreck of a He 115 on the seebottom somewhere in the Baltic. So yes, some activity is happening but very little when it comes to wrecks which is not ex-Flygvapnet. Of course we have these two P-51 Mustangs discovered some time ago. I've also been in contact with a guy who claims to know the whereabout of several axis and allied wrecks, but despite my offer of hard labour, nothing have appeared, so I don't know if it is any truth behind his claims. The claims were so juicy that I can't repeat them here... ;-)

: Personally I cannot understand that certain wrecks are "pr
