Hi all
Japanese warbirds (apart from the zero of course) seem to be pretty well overlooked. Does anyone out there have a favourite?
For me it is the Ki-43 'Oscar'. I think it's the most beautiful aircraft the Japanese built and Oscars dominated the skies over the the south pacific and se asia in 1942. On some of the earlier models even the u/c was made of aluminium forgings in order to save weight - highly manouverable and fast. Let down by it's armour and armourment of course.
Great shame there are no complete ones in Europe.
