Corsair gunsight

Hi!

My search is over!

I obtained today through a friend, a gunsight from a Corsair, it is an US Bureau of Ordnance Mk.8 Mod. 5 Sight Unit, and he says it works.

My questions: Could anyone suggest where I can get a mounting bracket for it, and an operation manual (xerox copy would do fine.)

Also, can anyone tell me, what are the mineral-looking granules found encased in a metallic container, with a plastic cover, in the back of the sight unit?
