An oldie from Barnstormers, but you see how many people are trying to get at all those aircraft. Will we ever see any of these recoverd again?
HUNDREDS OF HELLCATS! In 1946, several hundred Hellcats where dumped off Sydney and the Queensland coast. I have several positions of them. Three years ago, I worked for a now defunct consortium off Queensland and found 7 aircraft with my ROVs in 820 feet depth. All in apparent good condition. Other aircraft which were dumped in the same site: Thunderbolts, Corsairs, boxes containing Harley Davidson bikes, etc. Here in Sydney, I have some sites with aircraft in 650 feet. Is anyone interested in financially backing me in the salvage of some of these aircraft? I own and operate: (a) a high speed Catamaran 50 feet in length specially fitted out for salvage, (b) 2 Hyball ROVs depth rating 1000 feet, (c) Side scan Sonar. Contact Gerry Steenbuck.
