I have the same information as you, that the Danish CAA doesn't let him fly in full luftwaffe markings. I think that it could very well be true, remember that it has only been possible to aply Swedish air force markings on historic aircraft in Sweden for a few years. The hakenkreutz is still very emotionall (and should be) especially in Europe, while it is more "liberally" used in USA and Asia.

The interesting question is how and when the aircraft ended up in Italy!
