Because 50% of the "owning partnership, believes charity begins at home. Strangely enough, the 50% that had f*ck all to do with the recovery, but were pretrty quick to jump all over the aircraft when it was recovered. Amazing, the whole story of this aircraft, is one of double dealing and backstabbing, and the price just keeps going up and up, because of an inadvisable estimate, probably based on the aircraft being airworthy.

This just sends out utterley the wrong message. Every Tom , Dick, Harry and Boris, now believes that the hunk of jubnk at the bottom of their garden, in downtown Vladivostock, is worth millions. Jeeeeeze, its the 90's all over again. So airframes get more and more expensive to recover, Governments see a new hospital coming out of something only fit to be restored as a shanty roof, if they haven't trousered the revenue that is.

The worst thing is, some enthusiast, with more money than sense, will pay handsomely over the odds, and just keep the market artificially high. Does anyone remember "classic cars" as investments? Do u remember the meteroic rise and rise of prices, for mediocre motors? Do u also remember the prices then burning up on re-entry, when the market took an early morning dip in Lake real?

It angers me, that the Finns haven't got the aircraft they originally paid for, and would probably restore in the most authentic way possible. What the hell, do the Russians have to do with this aeroplane? What someone sees here, is the USN qed the US Government, must be so desperate to have this aircarft, they'll pay anything.

Pensacola, don't bother. I'll go to the Caribbean, and haul up one of the ones dumped over the side in Martinique in 1940,after France fell. if u want to pay me a FRACTION of what they're asking for that aircraft, I'll get you 2 or 3 if they're still there

Rant over, sanity will prevail.

Maybe someone directly connected with this aircraft , can tell me why it's worth so much?

Maybe someone can justify the asking price?

Tony
