The complete front firewall plus of MH367, battered and bruised and recoverd from a scrap yard in Wiltshire in 1999 was acquired for this project for an identity transfer. The firwall subcontractors plate was attached and the stencil on the spar cover was clear as a bell MH367. All usable carry over bracketry and revitted primary structure to the max was transferred over to the DM Spitfire in the best spirit of the exercise. Nobody is trying to fool anybody. It just gives an orphan some parentage. If this firewall had not been used on this project I can assure you it would have formed the basis of a future Spitfire project. As a starting point it is no more nor less than several projects with SAAF origins currently in the mill.
We scrapeth the barrel ever lower!
