EN19 (an old style spec no) doesn't have any nickel content. BS970 is a spec for dozens of different steels - you need to add a suffix. Take a look at www.soton.ac.uk/~cds/material/steel.htm - it's very informative. Was nitriding a contemporary treatment when Merlin cranks were being made?
