In reply top One more question about the USAFM Buchon.......... posted by Cees on Tue Jun 11, 2002 08:56:17 AM
I checked into it for our museum. This is some of the response:
"Property offered for exchange consists of one Hispano HA-1112 Buchon aircraft serial number C.4K-64, owned by the USAF Museum and located at Wright-Patterson AFB OH. Inspection of the aircraft prior to submitting a proposal is strongly recommended. The aircraft was delivered to Wright-Patterson AFB for display in April 1966.
The aircraft does not have an engine and has been modified to give the appearance of a German Me-109G. The propeller blades are reproductions but the hub is al VDM acquired from Williams Flugzeuge. The aircraft is not airworthy at this time and does not have maintenance records therefore it is being offered for static display purposes only."
From the pictures, it looks like the instrument panel has been stripped. All the cowlings appeared to be present, but I didn't see an engine mount. I didn't get the impression that they had attached a dollar value to it.
