I had to go to the local university area where more artsy type films are shown. I liked it, my wife liked it, and another aviation friend liked it. The Spitfire scenes were fabulous.
I thought it to be by far one of the best aviation movies I have seen. It definitely showed a facet of the war not often discussed on this side of the pond.
It is a shame that a movie like this cannot be appreciated by the general public as much as some of the Richard Gere (yes, the Gerbil guy...) "formula" movies are. Dark Blue World seemed to have a similar formula to Pearl Harbor, but relied more on a good screenplay than it did special effects.

: Just watched Dark Blue World (was pleasantly surprised tha
: t the local video store had it on DVD). I must say I was q
: uite surprised by this film. I had heard so many negative
: things about it that I almost didn't watch it. But figured
: you can never see too much Spitfire footage. And I must s
: ay that footage was excellent. My only problem was the sto
: ry was a little disjointed and obviously the editor has ne
: ver heard of segways. A little to jumpy between scenes for
: my taste. But all in all a great movie. Now I'm going to
: have to revamp the Czech aviation section.
