As for the 'state of play', as you so eloquently put it, the wings are currently being worked on up in good ol' Norfolk and the Horizontal tailplanes are basically being built from scratch down south by Mr Steve Moon himself. We have been borrowing, and still do, lots of parts from NV778 at Cosford, the cowlings were built from scratch using the RAFM's set as a pattern. I'm always looking at it now that I've nearly finished the skinning on the chin cowl, it's such a beast, now all we need is a prop.......
