I've exchanged several emails with Kermit and others in his organization regarding the fate of this Canadian built Mk.X Lancaster. As most know this is not a 100% complete aircraft. Infact it is comprised of two Mk.X Lancs - KB976 and KB994. Part of the airframe (centre section) is in one of the buildings undergoing some clean up work at present. Kermit infored me that he would like to find space so that the larger pieces can be put on public display but there is no long term restoration plan at present. I guess that happens when there are too many toys in the chest to play with! ;)

My interest in this AC is due to the fact it once was one of three Mk.10 AR (P) built for 408 Squadron RCAF for long range arctic photo survey. KB839, KB882 & KB976 all served up until 1964 and interestingly all survive today.

Cheers,
Troy
