Friday The Thirteenth debate on FP-forum....

I have been doing some catching up on the web and read the topic on the FlyPast forum about YAM's Halifax being a Halifax or not. This topic turned into a heated debate and so it should be (right Tony?).
Now this is one right up my alley and I would say that it indeed IS a Halifax.
Why? It uses 1/2 an original fuselage, a tailsection built from original plans and by British Aerospace (Brough). Only the nosesection was "created" because the IWM wouldn't let them have theirs (not, not starting that one again).
The wings are of a Hastings (same partnumbers starting with 57 prefix) which was actually a set of Halifax wings with a new fuselage like the Avro York (OK, a bit more complicated but nevertheless). The tail is being corrected at the moment so that has been solved. The undercarriage is not original but there aren't any to be found. The only thing I don't like are the props and the noseperspex (but I understand they are working on that one too). A lot of flying warbirds have started with less!
