Duxford's B24

Hi all,
When visiting Duxford a week ago I was struck by the sight of the B-24 on its gear with engines hung and about a dozen people working all over it. It looked like a hanger scene during the last war. It was very impressive to see the quality of work. Especially when four people were working on the midupper turret surrouneded by four other turrets used for parts as well as a derelict tail turret yet to be restored.
TFC's hangar was also very impressive as always with the Beaufighters tailplane being reskinned. No visible progress compared with my previous visit in 2000 but undoubtedly a lot has been going on inside. The engine of the Sea Fury was being restored in the workshop next to the hangar. Pity that the B-Mustang was still in pieces but the quality of work was simply outstanding. The two Yak-3's are still in pieces, they do not seem to make a hurry getting these into the air.
It was raining at the time and the two B-17 were standing close on the ramp still wet from the rain. I got the chance to make some very nice photographs of these two aircraft with just the countyside in the backgound.
Duxford never bores
