I was shocked to read the Mick has passed away. My condoleances to his wife and family and all of you on this board.
About the trip, at first things didn't really work out regarding the IWM Halifax cockpit, and even after having talked with five different IWM officials I wasn't allowed to get inside. Since the IWM has free enty they now get money from the government. They tell IWM that the radiation is dangerous. If they would let me inside they fear that they money would be revoked (nice piece of blackmail I told one of the officials and he agreed).
I did find however nine Halifax drawings which are very very useful at the RAFM Museum. About the Whirlwind I will post that on the Whirlwind board.
