Finding Info on a Wartime Pilot

Does anyone know how or where I would go about finding out information on a wartime RAF cadet who was undergoing pilot training in Florida in 1942? I have no idea whether he is alive or dead, made it or washed out, all I know is his name and where/when at least some of his training was done - and the fact that he wrote off at least one trainer!
