I think that all aircraft in the collection should be preserved but that might not be possible. In my opinion historic types should be preserved first (Sieren, He 219, Ju 388, etc...) as these aircraft cannot be replaced. Then aircraft of historic significance (Enola Gay, Swoose...). However I think a program to preserved these aircraft in there current state should be implimented. Something to halt the corrosion that will allow time to restore them. There should also be a certification program for some restoration facilities that would allow them to acquire airframes and restore them and maybe display (not fly) these aircraft for a fixed period. The certification would mandate a certain level of qualification before the facility would be allowed to commence the program.

The point with this is that standards should be maintained while allowing more aircraft to be restored before they are lost or so corroded that a restoration would require fabrication of nearly a new aircraft.
