Halifax W1048 internal organs.......

Hi all,
Still busy planning our stay in London as of tomorrow.
I just found out on the RAFM-site that the internal organs of W1048 are stored at Cosford. Does anyone know what items they mean by that, and my very obvious question is (kicking in an open door so to say):
Why did they strip the airframe instead of not displaying it in the same condition it came out of Lake Hoklingen?
Come on you Halifax-buffs!
