: Hi all,
:
: I was wondering is anyone on this board knows anything abo
: ut any potential recoveries in Spain?
:
: During the Spanish Civil War a lot of aircraft were shot d
: own on both sides. The Condor Legion used this war to test
: their new types in combat while the opposing sides used a
: variety of type among which the Polikarpov I-16 Rata. As
: Spain had close contacts with the Germans they used also a
: lot of types apart from the Messerschmitt Bf 109, such as
: Ju88, HeIII, He115 etc.
:
: We all know that Hispano Buchons and the Merlin engined He
: -III came from Spain as well as Rob Lamplough's 109E which
: was found on a dump in the eighties, but there have been
: rumours that Ju88's were to be found still in Spain, and w
: hat about crash sites in remote areas?
:
: What do you think.

Hi
There was an article in the Flypast mag about two years ago
a JU-88 was recovered as it fouled trawler nets, however it was dumped further out to sea,
there was I think a roumour many years ago of a FW-200 in the Mountains between france/spain.
Cheers
Jerry
