I believe it is still registered with Transport Canada, although I don't remember the c/r. I can look it up tonight.
I haven't seen it for a few years (1996 maybe). When I last saw it a gentleman working at the hanger mentioned that the gentleman from Alberta was trying to sell it, but I got the impressiong asking price might have been too high.
As for museums not taking it, even if it was for free (not saying it wasn't), that might pose a problem. It's not a small plane, so you have to have the hanger space. The CWH and the NAM already have one. The Toronto Aerospace Museum doesn't have one, but I would guess they don't have the hanger space. Are there any museums in western or eastern Canada looking for a Catalina?
BTW... when I was there it appeared to be very well preserved. In addition the original RCAF stenciling was still marked on the fuselage and wings. It really is a time machine.
