.....with emotion!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
What can I say?
If it's happening elsewhere, then I ain't found it in the SIXTY + aviation forums that I check most days.
BLIMEY....this place gets as much traffic on most days, as some of them get in a month....or several months actually for many of them!
But this is the only one which I look at first thing and last thing, and several other times, each and every day.....yes I know I'm a sad sod....and I do have a telly!
I may well have burnt my bridges with a few people because of the things I've said to them and others in the past, but it doesn't mean that I don't want them to contribute.....far from it, the more people post here the better.
Just like Tony, I have learnt a hell of a lot from these forums, and especially this one and the old VA and WW forums, and I also know that other people find out stuff that they never knew before.
It would be brilliant though if all the people who do just look and not post, were actually to say something.....anything.....doesn't matter what....and I DON'T mean just reply to the stuff that me and Our Tone put up.
Ask a question.....put forward a theory, however mad it might seem to you personally(and I've done enough of those!)....tell us something that only YOU know......tell us about the plane you've discovered....tell us about the plane you fly.....tell us about the plane you're working on.....absolutely anything you like about old warbirds, or even a classic extremely rare and wonderful civvy type....as long as it's not about modern spam cans , modern jets and modern airliners we don't care what it is.....just TELL us, share that info with all us Aeroplane Freaks.....with due consideration for your personal sensitive commercial activity of course....we ain't that nosey!
You will probably have seen my posts on the X-files Mustang and the Bergerac Bf110, I still don't know if they were real aircraft or replicas, but I know someone does somewhere.
For all any of us know , I might well have found some planes that aviation enthusiasts like us knew nothing about, either that or they just don't want to tell me?
Although I'm very embarrassed about it now, because of the way I flipped my lid over it (Sorry Simon K...again), I was the one who "discovered" the unknown Korean War Sabre and Corsair in that North Korean museum that no-one else knew about previously(as far as anyone knows or has said so far anyway), and that was just because I saw them as fleeting glimpses in a travel programme back in 1996.
Until I told that story back on the old WW forum, (and also the story of the line up of old jets in Yemen) I was convinced that other people ,who care about such things, already knew about them, but I was wrong with a Capital W.
So this is the kind of thing we want to hear about, if you think you have seen or heard about something somewhere, on the TV, a web-site, on holiday, grandads old war stories, whatever....then speak up please.....no true enthusiast will shoot you down if you happen to make a mistake....HELL, I've made enough of those, and I'm still here!
As Tony says, no-one is going to laugh at you....and you do have me for that anyway (HA-HA...THANKS TONY!!!! :-D )
.....and I promise I won't rant and rave at you, or anyone else :-)....I've found a New Peace ,Maannnn, and life is just TOOOOOOO short for Negative Vibes, Maannnn....so come on down boys and girls......the water's lovely!!!!
To increase traffic from potential new people, I was thinking of putting a list of other forums on this one, and the same on all the others......after all, I find a new one virtually every week, so there must be lots of folks out there who have not found this forum yet.
What do others think, is it worthwhile me doing that or not?
It's funny sometimes how me and Tony think alike on some things at the same time.....and NO we don't talk about everything.....but it was only last night that I was thinking to myself while having the last ciggy before bed.....wouldn't it be interesting if some folks from non-western countries were to contribute something, I think we would find it very interesting , to say the least, to hear of stuff they know about in their own backyards.
Nuff Said.
Cheers.

:
: Counting back, It looks like we're over a thousand message

: ther.
:
: But we can do better......
:
: Mick mentioned in one of his earlier posts, if anyone knew
: anything of interest to this forum.
:
: The forum, can stay alive and vibrant, and the first place
: on the net, to stop with a coffee, if we ALL contribute s
: omething.
:
: Soooooo , I appreciate the board has a lot of lurkers, and
: I know, there are some extremely knowledgable people, and
: i dare say experts, coming through, who haven't said anyt
: hing.
:
: So, it would be pretty good, if people could contribute mo
: re.
:
: It would be nice, for warbird oners to talk about their ae
: roplanes, and their plans, the same for restoration shops,
: or guys with basket cases, or people who think they may h
: ave seen something somewhere, or just guys who have a ques
: tion.
:
: So, maybe we should have an "Ask a question week" , or mor
: e , "Does anyone know?"
:
: Whatever it is, you want to say, no one is going to laugh
: at you, (We have Mick for that :0) soz, mate) and it would
: be interesting to see, what other people have to say.
:
: Is there anyone from Russia, Japan, China, Korea etc, who
: can contribute?
:
: As far as I know, this may well have become the busiest fo
: rum on the net for this subject. It certainly is, compared
: to Flypast, Mustangs, all about, the luftwaffe etc, and I
: for one , have learnt a great deal here.
:
: So, let's make this board explode! Scott seems to have the
: admin together, so we can get bigger.
:
: Lets create that monster........ Muwahahahahahahaha.
:
: And to all you regular contributors and commentators out t
