I would check on the details of Sandy's 'death' - it might just be a case of Mark Twain ! The collection was being gradually refined at Cranfield until it's move to Bruntingthorpe. The word 'sale' is probably not the best description of the events at Bruntingthorpe bearing in mind it had more to do with the courts.
