I saw the aircraft in 1995 and it really suffers from rust. There is probably not a single skin on the aircraft that can be used, if I remember the airframe was gutted. It would take a lot to restore her. I think the city felt that if they restored her fully there would be nothing left of the original aircraft, so they cleaned the airframe and painted it, and she was put on display.
