A very impressive achievement by anyones reckoning. I personally think that this is a much better way to look at producing flyable mosquitos than rebuilding existing airframes. For example The Fighter Collection machine is going to need tearing to pieces in its rebuild just to get it to a point where they can start a rebuild. I have to say that I would feel much safer in a brand new mosquito airframe made from new wood than an aircraft made up of bits and pieces of fifty year old timber that had to be prized apart and put back together again. Having a static and very historic machine containing a high percentage of original material alongside an identical but more or less new machine capable of performance comparable to a machine straight out of the factory is surely a double whammy. It would be interesting to see what the comparison in costs would be for a rebuild to fly of an existing airframe compared to a static rebuild of the same aircraft alongwith a new build aircraft. I don't think that their would be all that much difference in the price.
