That is, if I remember correctly reading some years ago this very same rumour in WWW. It was also stated that Mr Gibson's production company had made an official statment that they had no plans whatsoever to do a remake of this film.
Personally I would be very curious what a modern day version would look like in the same style as Band of Brothers (but without CGI-Lancasters please)
