You guys are obvously talking about aircraft that are kept in side.Aircraft kept outside since the war,i would say it's data plate only.Anything with magnesium rivets like Beaus are a total rebuild especialy if they are english.Any ally part with a bolt in it is bin fodder or ally and brass or bacalite.Ally dosen't like any other substance.Any ally aircraft 50 years old.Suffers from what is called heat aging. In other words the older it gets the harder it gets until it brakes. It also work hardens,We get parts sent for restos from the US and they use parts we throw out so there is a bit of a quality issue there. You might say it's ok but i might refuse to put it on a flyer.I recently pulled a tail plug apart off.Kittyhawk A29-915 and it was as hard as spring steel,i coulden't straighten the skins without them braking.
