Newbe??'s: Best way to find out about a crash site I visited

I just got back from visiting a crash site of a CH-19 (I think) what is the best way to find out more about it. This crash site happens to be on a military installation.
I looked for data plates on the airframe, each place were a plate should be was drilled out. Looks like the site was "sanitized"
