Last nights meeting was a very good one with a great turn out/ I was very pleased to see several WW2 vets present and some of them addressed the meeting with their concerns etc. The committee has decided on relocating the Lancaster to a new site at Windsor Airport. They have three sites to choose from at the airport. Once the new building is up, then the Lancaster can be dismantled and taken to the new facility. The Lancaster will be replaced by a fibreglass Spitfire and Hurricane Fighter one of which will be climbing and the other descending. This will replace the cirrect pedestal mount that the lanc sits on. There is talk of looking at creating a smaller monument at Dieppe and Jackson Park to explain the the Lancaster was first situated on the riverfront when it came to windsor and also that her home for 40 years was Jackson park and that she can now be found at the new Museum at the Windsor Airport.

The next step now is to approach the City of Windsor Council and report on the findings of the three committees and hopefully get the green light to proceed.

I will post updates on the forum when news comes in.
