Wildcat

I too was there but did not clearly see the accident but did witness it. Late that day I had to go out to the airplane to retreive Howards stuff & the GPS unit. The vertical is cruched,the wind screen & canopy is a write off, although I think the windscreen was crushed in the accident. The left wingtip is damaged with the pitot riped out, the right is fine. I could not see the top of the cowling because it was under a foot of water from all the rain.I dont think the landing gear is damaged , nothing looks bent, I could not turn the wheels though. The trick now is to get the plane over without doing further damage.
We'll keep you posted on the recovery.
