Lynn,

I also did a visit to Idaho last summer and here's what I found. Near Boise is a small town called Nampa, which is where John Paul's Warhawk Air Museum is located, and it is open to the public, with a beautiful collection of flyable warbirds and artifacts. Visit: http://www.warhawkairmuseum.org/index.htm

At Boise, a secure airport, there is an AAFS base with a Huey gunship on a pole, and an F-4 phantom nearby. On the freeway side of the airport is an airtanker base.

Near Twin Falls is the small town of Jerome; Airpower Unlimited has several Corsairs under restoration and Tim Savage's PV-2 Harpoon project. The website is http://www.airpowerunlimited.com/default.htm and I would recommend a call, prior to visiting, they are very friendly folks.

At the Twin Falls airport is a T-33 on a pole, and an old WWII tank display.

If you get a chance, up north near Arco, you can see the worlds first nuclear power plant "EBR-1", which gives excellent guided tours. It is at the Idaho National Engineering and Environmental Laboratories. What is really interesting here, are the two aircraft nuclear engine prototypes that are gigantic. Worth a visit. I hope this helps..............Roger
