If this is of any help, from a publication I have:
The propellor shaft for a Merlin fitted to a Spitfire 7,8 & 9 is refered to as a 'No. 5 B.B.A.C. Standard Engine Propellor Shaft'
One of the engine re-builders would be able to point you in the direction of the spline form and fit for the shaft which would mate with the prop.
