Learstang "Miss Ashley II"

Sometimes I see this one referenced as a P-51C. The mod with the Learjet wings consisted of a fuselage from a similar racer with the Learjet wings and tail plane. Help educate an ignorant one here, but was as left that would have been a Mustang? Was the fuse from the other custom racer a modified P-51 fuse?
What happened to the Miss Ashley II? I know it crashed, but was it completely destroyed? Are there any remains?
