L1007 was a Vickers test aircraft and indeed the first Spitfire to be fitted experimentally with 20mm Cannon, making it the proto Mk 1B
It saw squadron service with 603, 65, 609 and 72 Sqdns, where in the latter it shot down a Hienkell 111 with the new cannon in January 1940. It was SOC 'write off' on 28 May 1940.
May I ask how you know that this canopy is from L1007 This canopy would have great interest to researchers as, no early example survives, most early aircraft being retrospectively fitted with improved vision types.
