Just spent a few days there on business and got the nickel tour. Lots of F-15's and C-5's being overhauled.
I didn't realize what is involved in an F-15 structural overhaul. They actually have a robot to remove bolts so that the wing skins can be pulled off to inspect the internal structure. The wing skin sits in a fixture and the robot goes to town with a big screwdriver bit.
They also have an awesome prop shop- I saw hundreds of C-130 props being overhauled.
I also took some photos at the air museum there on the base. Anyone have any requests? I can post some photos on Webshots on Monday.
