Mr Ben Epps Jr, oldest son of Georgia aviation pioneer Ben T. Epps Sr. passed away last night(9/23/2001) in his sleep. Ben's aviation career had covered everything from flying "The Hump"during WW2, airlines, & was well known for his restoration work with vintage aircraft.Ben was a master craftsman, & turned out some of the finest dope & fabric, wood work restorations in the business. The Georgia Museum Of Aviation in Warner Robins Ga. has on display a replica of the Epps 1912 Monoplane, that was built in 1969 by Ben Epps Jr., & was exbited & flown by Ben at numerous airshows until its retirement in 1979.Ben will be greatly missed. No information on funeral arrangements at this time.
